12/12/08--Don and I at The Forbidden City (it was VERY cold) We have made it safely to Beijing. We did not waste any time seeing the sights. Our agency had a full day planned for us today. There are about 25 families here to adopt children from all over China. They loaded us on 2 tour buses and we went to Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, a silk factory, and on a rickshaw ride through old Beijing. We also had a delicious authentic Chinese lunch. We both have been awake since about 3 am so we are now completely exhausted. It is a good thing that the only thing planned for us tomorrow is The Great Wall, touring a Jade Factory, and an acrobatic show! If this pace continues, we will not last very long--especially with a baby in tow! Only 2 more days until we get Kate! It cannot come fast enough.
Fantastic! Glad to hear that you guys made it safe and are enjoying the sites. Several of us here on the third floor are following your blogging adventure. Don't worry about the Ares team meeting this morning.....Russ cancelled it! Hope all goes smoothly with Kate in the coming days.
Hi Denise and Don, We saw your picture and you both look great. What an adventure! We are so anxious for you to call and say you have little Kate in your arms. What a thrill! The boys are fine and doing well. They are so much fun and so happy, thanks to you guys. We miss you and can hardly wait for the 24th. Have a great day and keep us posted. It sounds like they are keeping you busy. We love you, Mom and Day
We are so glad to hear from you guys. The grandparents are doing a great job. I checked on them this morning. I cried when I saw your picture on the blog, what am I going to do when Kate shows up? We miss you, have fun.
Denise and Don - Congratulations! She is beautiful! What an adventure and how exciting to know that it ends with baby Kate. I just got your Christmas letter today and was thrilled to hear about the newest Keller girl. I am looking forward to following your trip and know your daughter will be in her parents arms soon! Congratulations again! Carrie
Hi Denise and Don, So your Chinese lunch was good?! I am so happy for that. I know we discussed how you would like the food while over there. I thought you said it would be summer over there Denise? So much for the summer clothes for Kate? Now that I think about it...it is winter in Japan while it is winter here, so wouldn't it be the same for China? Well, good luck with the time zone change. I am sure it is quite an adjustment for you both. Can't wait to see your next update! Good luck. Colleen
Ok, so we forgot to plan on how to shorten your trip!! It's good to see you both, safe and sound, but get Kate and get home!! I look forward to YOUR long stories and a round of D COke!! Love, Martha
