12/13/08 The Great Wall!
Our guide took us to the Great Wall today. As you can imagine, it was amazing! It was also treacherous with snow and ice covered steps. We almost made it to the top but ran out of time. It was 1000 steps to the top and none were the same height. We all kept saying that we could not believe we were hiking The Great Wall. We were even able to talk with Sam at the top!
After the wall, we went to another huge lunch, saw the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, and ended the day with an acrobatics show. I was so exhausted and asleep by 7:00. Don and I have been waking up by about 3:30 every morning. Tomorrow we leave for Chongqing and get Kate!!!
