Qian Xiu Hua
We are so excited to introduce our precious daughter! We received the call from our agency at 12:00 today. Her name means "beautiful flower". She was born on February 16, 2008 and is 8 1/2 months old. She is living in the Qianjiang Social Welfare Institute (orphanage).
She laughs and smiles easily, rolls over, and is a deep sleeper.
At 6 months old, she weighed 13 pounds and was 24.8" tall.
We will keep her given name as her middle name and her first name will be Kathryn.
Tomorrow, we will receive a packet with more information about Kate and more photos. I will post those as soon as I can.
We will be leaving for China on December 4 or December 11 (keep your fingers crossed for the 4th).
We are planning to keep a travel journal while traveling in China. If you would like to follow our trip, just check in here.
You all know how long we have hoped for this day. We cannot believe it is finally here. There were so many times that we were frustrated with the long wait, but as soon as we saw her, everything made perfect sense.

Hi Kellers! I can't stop looking at her picture! She is so beautiful. I was wondering how close in age she would be to Meghan..only 2 mths apart!!! Mer and I fell in love with her the second we saw her picture. Meredith said, "I like her. She is pretty. Can she be ours?" I bet you can't wait for them to put her in your arms. Congratulations!!! This has been a long time in the making, I can tell you all are very excited. We will say a prayer for the 4th, that way you'll be home in enough time to celebrate your first Christmas with her all together!!

Dear Don, Denise, Sam, Jack, and Ben, We have not met little Kate, yet we love her already. She is a doll. December cannot come fast enough so we can begin this new and exciting journey. She is so lucky to have such wonderful parents and great big brothers. We are so happy.

Wow..the time is finally here!!
We cannot wait to meet our new little niece. She is so beautiful and is a blessing to our entire family. I don't know who is luckier, her or the five of you. I am sure the boys are excited about all the tea parties they will be having! :) Bringing her home just come fast enough. It will be such a beautiful sight when you walk in the door with her in your arms. Can't wait...Welcome Home Kate!!
