Another day in Chongqing but we leave tomorrow for Ghangzhou and we are ready to get there and get home. Chongqing has been fun and today we went to the Old Chongqing City to shop at the market in this original part of the city along the river. We were the only Westerners there and it is a genuine open market for the local people to shop. Lots of sounds, smells, and sights that one would not likely see in the USA. Lots of yelling and haggling and many people buying local foods and crafts. The entrance is at the old gate to the city. The streets are fairly narrow. Don sat down for a few minutes on some steps and was assaulted by lots of older Cniese woman telling him what to do with Kate to keep her warmer (they are crazy about that in China) and keep her two fingers out of her mouth (we keep them clean but try telling them that). Don finally had to retreat into a shop or else face being beaten to death. There was one very nice woman (most Chinese are very kind and happy to see us) with a baby on her back in a basket (Don wants one). She was very happy to have her picture taken with Don. Denise did lots of shopping and looking in all the shops.
